rehabilitate Long Island City
The project is intervention on a NYCHA site in Long Island City which try to fix Public Housing In NYC. The proposal is for getting NYCHA back on its feet financially and simultaneously addressing the mismatch and inefficiency in housing for poor and disadvantaged. It’s done through selective demolition and thoughtful introduction of perimeter housing form; these mix-use and mix-population buildings could contain income commercial space at the street and provide badly needed neighborhood amenities to NYCHA residents; provide through this public-private collaboration on-site daycare, medical facilities, exercise facilities to increase the chance for this population to break out of the debilitating cycle of poverty in that public housing.
